“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“We love Him because He first loves us.” 1 John 4:19
“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
The problem with the world is that they really don’t understand love. The world’s view of love is more like lust. To truly love is to put yourself last. That is what God did. He came down here, humbled Himself, and died on a Cross so that we might have everlasting life, and life more abundant. In this new life, we have a love given to us that comes from God within, by the power and operation of the Holy Spirit, which we can return to Him, and in this love our desire is to please Him. We learn to deny ourselves, favoring the Lord and His Will. This grows from within and spills without onto those around us, and we fulfill His commands without doing anything other than continuing to believe in Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
So, then we must realize that the most important thing we could ever do in our love of our neighbors is to tell them the Truth. It is by the means of the Truth that we have all that we have. From salvation, to sanctification, to glorification, all was given at the Cross by Jesus. Since God changes not (Malachi 3:6), all that He despised in the Old Covenant remains despised under the New. Grace indeed does cover a multitude of sin, but sin needs to be recognized as such, that it may be repented of. To accept everyone’s choices and have tolerance of all things is not Who God is, and it is not who God asks us to be. God asks us to be holy. We are only found holy while we remain hidden in Christ, for our own righteousness is but filthy rags to God. To remain in Christ, in the Truth, means we represent Him. He is God, and God cannot lie. Therefore, if we love our neighbors, we will proclaim the Truth to them in its entirety, to the point of receiving their persecution, and possibly losing whatever relationship we once had with them. To love them is to worry more about their soul, their eternal security, and their victorious lives. So, here is the Truth:
“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” Leviticus 20:13
“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” Romans 1:26-28
God says homosexuality is sinful. There is no getting around it. The Truth is the Truth. Now, God loves every single homosexual person no differently, and certainly no less, than any other person. God is no respecter of persons. He loves us all with an overflowing, infinitely large, immeasurable love. It’s the sin that He hates. He hates all sin, because with sin on us, we cannot come into His Presence. This is why we need Christ. Therefore, any preacher, pastor, evangelist, teacher, brother, or sister who speaks differently must be avoided. They are teaching in error. They are leading people astray and denying them the Truth that leads to salvation because Christ is God. Christ would not abide by homosexuality. Like the woman at the well, he would welcome any homosexual person, but tell them, go and sin no more.
Any homosexual person can be saved. We cannot question a person’s salvation, for that is between that person and the Lord. However, we can, and we must, judge their fruit. If they continue in the homosexual behavior, they are not exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit. This means they are not following the Will of God as clearly shown in His Word. They need to repent, saved or not.
Agree with it or not, it is what it is. We must not be afraid to speak the Truth. Fear is of the enemy, and it will cause us to look at ourselves and stop us from sharing the Truth, out of selfish fear of losing relationships, status, and favor among men. God calls us to love and in love we must share what all men and women need to hear to be saved, and to remain so, and to experience Godly victorious lives. May the Lord speak to us all tonight and both encourage us and strengthen us. May we realize it is His favor we should desire in all things. In His love, my brothers and sisters.
