“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:” Colossians 1:9-12
Spiritual wisdom comes from God. We should seek His Face in prayer and in the Bible. When we earnestly seek Him, and ask for wisdom, He is faithful to provide it, and then some. The key to wisdom, however is proper utilization.
True understanding of the wisdom He provides leads to fruit in our lives, as we allow the knowledge to guide us in our walk. These two things, wisdom and knowledge, should go hand in hand. If we walk against the Word, and outside of His Will, then there is no understanding, and the wisdom originally given will not be retained. We should meditate diligently on what we read and truly allow the Spirit to bring the wisdom gleaned twelve inches down from our head to our heart, where it will be written by Him and then we will follow in true spiritual understanding.
