Suffering Affliction

The Intolerance Of The “Tolerant”

“Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” James 5:8-11

For my brother in Christ who is in the midst of a storm which came upon him unawares in the form of new supervisory staff and the changes in atmosphere at his place of employment.

Only the humble in spirit who are trusting in Christ can endure the type of change that happens when someone new comes in and places heavy bondage upon us. The retribution they desire for the wrongs committed against them by others in their past burns them from within. It is a self consuming fire that can never be satisfied. From that same fire come the fiery darts they throw on behalf of the enemy.

Only the shield of faith can protect us from that sort of onslaught. It is a direct assault from Satan using those sorts of people when they are so deeply entrenched in their own desires and their own bondages that they cannot even recognize they are being used and abused by the father of all lies. All we can do is continue to exhibit changed lives. Love God, praise Him for Who He is. Love others, even as they hate us, and show them the character of the God Who loves us.

God bless you, Richard. You have been chosen to stand and defend the faith right where you are. Know that your brethren stand with you in this battle, shields raised in prayer. Count it all joy, brother. You don’t know how The Lord is going to use this to bring Himself glory. Let Him use you right there. Glory be to God in the highest!

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;” James 1:2
