Faith Like Gold

“I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” Revelation 3:28

The gold tried in the fire speaks of our faith, given to us by God Himself, that we may believe, through Him, all things. Our faith must be tested and put through many trials to purify us and to bring us closer to God and holier still. It is more precious than any gold, for gold perishes with time. Solid faith in Christ will never perish. So, to purchase such from The Lord is to buy that which costs no money and could never be purchased with such worldly tender. It must be purchased by the Blood of the Lamb and that was given to all of us free of charge. So, to accept Jesus is to purchase that faith, the gold tried in the fire. He is the only thing of any value in our lives, physically or spiritually, emotionally or intellectually. Jesus is worth everything. He alone is worthy of our all. In Him, we find richness.

It is because of Him that we gain white raiment, for our sins are purged, and what was once crimson is now white as snow. Through Christ Jesus, our sins are washed away, and we become clothed in His righteousness, for standing apart from Him, we are naked and vulnerable. But in Him, we are more than clothed in white raiment. We are clothed in Him. And being His, He gives unto us the Holy Spirit, sent to help us in this hour of need. He comes into us, awakening our spirit and abides within us always. He becomes the ointment to our spiritual eyes, opening them to see what we could not before. Anointing our eyes to see in His Word that which has always been there but was blocked from our view. With Christ’s blessings, we are new creatures indeed. We walk differently. We talk differently. We understand more of the living God, because He makes it so.

Blessed are we who read the words of the book of Revelation indeed and keep those things written therein because it is God Who blesses us as we choose to live for Him and in Him. The Lord bless you and keep you, my brothers and sisters. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen.
