The Lamb’s Book of Life
“And I saw in the right hand of Him that say on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne.” Revelation 5:1-7
There are some things that no man can do. One of those things is save himself from an eternity apart from God, burning in an eternal death. If Heaven exists, then Hell does, too, and there is but one Way out of that destination. The key is to have your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
That book is sealed, friends, and none of us, no not one, can open it to scribe their own name therein. There is only One. His Name is Jesus. Only He can open the book, and; therefore, it is He we must all approach in Truth and accept as sovereign Savior. Only then, upon absolute surrender to the Salvation Plan, which is Jesus Christ and Him crucified, will Jesus write our names into that book.*
I pray this morning, that your name, beloved reader, is written in that book. If you are not sure, I implore you, turn away from your sin, your selfishness and doubt, and choose Jesus, and it shall be certain that you are written therein. One day, not so very long from now, there shall be a feast in Heaven and we shall be seated there, celebrating with God Himself!
* (Predestination says our names are either written already or they are not, but free will is never negated. Therefore, I know my name was written before the world began, but I accepted of my own free will, regardless, as God foreknew. It is difficult, at best, to understand predestination and free will both being absolutely true simultaneously, so for the sake of simplicity of understanding, I presented it thusly.)
