“For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you: and I partly believe it. For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.” 1 Corinthians 11:18-19
Did you catch that? It says there must be heresies among us. Go ahead, read it again. Look it up in your own Bible and see that those words were not changed nor added. There must be heresies.
Then, take note of the rest of it. It says that the approved can then be made known. What does all of this mean? It means that some in the church are not approved. We all know for ourselves the simple truth of that. At some point, we ourselves sat amongst believers, unbelieving. We came to service because we were invited, yet we were not saved. The same is true today. Many who come and sit in the building are not yet saved.
Everybody knows that? Well, let’s take that a step further. How many say they are saved when they are only acting for the sake of a marriage or a friendship?
Common knowledge? Okay, deeper still, how many think they are saved, but are not because they’ve not truly accepted Christ? How many have accepted a false Christ? Now I’m stepping on some some toes.
Alright, let’s broaden our idea of church and eliminate the walls. If the church is without walls and is truly made of the people who believe, think just how large is the church. Now apply television, internet, and radio. That large Body is suddenly very, very open. The division has become evident. The opponents are vocal.
If, indeed, few are chosen and the “church” large, then it stands to reason that, even among the leadership, many are unsaved. Yes, I said it. Not every “holy” man is of God.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
Yes, they will be accountable for their deceits. So, to all who would come against the Truth of the gospel of Christ with the worldly argument of tolerance, I kindly direct you to today’s lead in scripture. Because, there are those in the Body who know the actual Truth. And because there are so many deceivers that claim to say they know it, their heresies are being pointed out by those who do. The deceivers, the wolves, if you will, are serving a Biblical purpose. They are there so that the Truth may be known in comparison through God’s chosen, who always go to the Word to defend it.
Man does not choose the anointed; God does. Use discernment. Go to the Word. If it isn’t Jesus Christ and Him crucified, it isn’t the gospel. Stand with Christ and defend Him. Let there be no tolerance of false teaching. Let there be no rest for those who teach falsely.
“No peace, saith my God, to the wicked.” Isaiah 57:21
